Ein Strandkorb kommt nie aus der Mode
Wer kennt ihn nicht, den Strandkorb? Vor rund 125 Jahren entworfen, sorgt er seitdem für eine behagliche Unterkunft an Strand und Meer. Viele verbinden mit dem Anblick von einem Strandkorb sofort das schöne Glücksgefühl, der am Meer verbrachten Ferien- oder Urlaubstage. Manch einer vermeint sogar lediglich beim Anblick von einem Strandkorb die salzige Gischt zu riechen und die Wärme der Sonne zu spüren.
Daher ist es kaum verwunderlich, dass der Strandkorb mittlerweile nicht nur am Meer zu sehen ist, sondern immer mehr in den heimischen Gärten vorgefunden wird. Weit von der Nord,- oder Ostessee entfernt, soll der Strandkorb im eigenen Paradies die Entspannung und das Wohlgefühl von fernen Urlaubsreisen verallgegenwärtigen. So wird vielleicht der wohl verdiente Feierabend gemütlich bei einem Glas Wein im Strandkorb verbracht oder der warme Sommertag unter dem schützenden Dach von einem Strandkorb verlebt. Je nach Modell gibt es den Strandkorb zum Liegen oder zum Sitzen, meist bietet der Strandkorb Platz für zwei Personen. Oftmals kann man aber auch einen größeren Strandkorb erwerben, so dass die ganze Familie darin Platz hat. Ein Strandkorb ist nicht nur sehr bequem, sondern auch einfach überaus komfortabel. Er lässt sich in verschiedene Richtungen drehen, sein Dach kann verstellt werden, die Sitzflächen sind gut gepolstert und mit Armlehnen versehen. Dazu ist meist ein Klapptisch im Strandkorb integriert und die Fußbänke können ausgeklappt werden.
Nicht nur in Deutschland ist der Strandkorb beliebter denn je, sogar in manchem Florida Ferienhaus wurden schon Strandkörbe gesichtet.
Das hätte sich der damalige Erfinder vom Strandkorb, der Korbmacher W. Bartelmann sicherlich nicht träumen lassen. Seine Intention war es lediglich eine komfortable Sitzgelegenheit für eine Rheuma geplagte Dame zu fertigen. Damit diese die Möglichkeit hatte ihren Badeurlaub am Strand zu verbringen. Bis heute ist der Strandkorb immer beliebt gewesen und daran wird sich wohl so schnell auch nichts ändern.
